I really don't know where I stand on this issue, on one hand I am very glad to see a shift in the balance of power (both military and political) to Asia, if not only China; the world will no longer be dominated by one superpower (if you consider the EU as one political body, then two superpowers...). On the other hand, a new space race will potentially cause the following, good or bad...

- Space shuttles are not cheap, space programs and military spendings put pressure on China's developing economy. Higher national debt, further polarization of wealth, etc. are foreseeable...

- Redistribution of power and technology. This is why the Americans panic, China, India and Japan are chasing after each other and catching up with the traditional big players. The US' technology advantage gradually subsides, it is no longer decades ahead of the so-called developing countries. Redistribution of power, also, would escalate the tension between individual Asian countries.

- Salary gap between our fellow countrymen and their competition in developed countries is now rapidly narrowing. Did anyone smell inflation? When labour rate in China has risen to a point that China no longer qualifies as a manufacturing backbone, factories will be moved to Eastern Europe, former USSR countries and parts of Africa, here comes the disaster. Education and social welfare in China not catching up with development, the uneducated may have problems to survive in the transition from a labour-intensive economy to a skill-set/intelligence based one.

上圖為近日在網上流傳 Polo 9N3 GTI 之廬山真面目，因 Polo 9N 由 02 年推出前期 4 圓燈版本至今已三年多，VW 繼 9N3 facelift 版後乘勢推出 Polo GTI 也是時候，個人認為可信程度甚高。

9N3 GTI 將會配用一代 VAG 名器 1.8T 已經街知巷聞，早已不是什麼秘密。據說 Polo GTI 配用的 1.8T 將會是一台被 tune down 到 150hp 的版本，使用 KKK K03 Turbo 及 drive-by-wire 電子油門，基本上和 Golf MK4 1.8T 及 Audi TT 180hp 沒大分別。150hp 的封印不出一會便可被一眾 chip tuner 如 Wetterauer、GIAC、APR 等解開，將 1.8T 的魔力完全釋放，180~200hp 手到拿來! 在一眾對手如 206 後勁不繼、Renault Clio RS 處於真空期的時候，Polo GTI 有望成為新一代 budget hot hatch!

1.8T 的潛力又豈止於此，以其略多於 1 噸的車重，只消三數小時給它換上 K04 turbo、LSD、inter-cooler 及適當排氣系統，其他同級小車恐怕只有遠眺其背影的份兒 (別告訴我你不知道裝上了 K04 turbo 的 1.8 Turbo Audi TT 出廠值便已經有 225hp?!)。也想知道下次改朝換代以前，VW 會否推出 Polo R 系列的終極小鋼砲?

VW TSI Twin Charging System Explained

近年大熱的 VAG 當然不會滿足於其已沿用多年的鎮山之寶如 1.8T、2.7 Twin Turbo 以及由一代經典 45' 窄角度 2.8 VR6 進化而成的 3.2 V6! 精彩之作陸續有來，其中比較觸目的要數 MK5 Golf GTI 和 Audi A4 (B7) 的 2.0T FSI 及還沒有面世的 170hp 1.4 TSI。不錯，是一台 1400cc 引擎同時加上 turbo 及 kompressor (即 belt-driven super-charge 機械增壓) 發出 170匹馬力，VW 叫它 TSI (Twin Charger FSI 雙增壓直噴)。VW 成功把兩種 forced induction 同時用於一台量產引擎上，令車壇嘆為觀止，這台 1.4 TSI 將會被用於 MK5 Golf GT 和新款 Scirocco 之上。

今早把心一橫將最近兩個 blog post 刪去，雖然也把一位朋友有關 EQ 的回應一併刪去有點不好意思，但內容和小弟的某些看法有衝突，又不知可怎樣回應，沒辦法...

- 可能因為我自少便是一名數學白癡的緣故，我從來不認為 Intelligence、Emotions、Creativity 等天份/恩賜應該被 quantify，更不認為一個 quotient 便可以解釋或評定一個人的智慧、情緒和創作力; 所以 IQ、EQ、CQ 之說，我是完全唔 buy 的。

- 也因為認識一位醉心於在名利場打滾的舊朋友，曾經不斷在我耳邊對其他人作批評並發表她的 EQ 謬論。謬論到最後當然不攻自破，對她來說最重要的，是 SEQ (Socio-Economic Status Quotient 社會經濟階級商數) !

簡單來說，即是有錢有面。

國慶夜拍煙花，煙花沒怎麼拍到，整晚就是這一幀最應節。
