自問缺乏威武的男人味，又不能忍受自己衣著工整時散發陣陣汗味飄香，唯有求助於卓悅。

One of the many good things about Volkswagen tuning is, thanks to the historical and technical ties within the VAG group and its Stuttgart neighbour, it is not uncommon to dig into the parts bins of Porsche & Audi to make your dub look better, go faster and even stop faster. Here's a classic example found at the Darmstadt Treffen 2006, Germany.

Now please pay careful attention to the running gears. Genuine multipiece Porsche wheels and Porsche brakes (note the gorgeous bright red brake calipers) on a Polo! Not only are these phat wheels hard to come by, it also means countless hours were spent rolling and cutting sheet metal under the arches for these babes to fit into the wheel wells.

I Had a very relaxing dayoff today, started my morning by joining Chloe (Mrs. Fat), Ming, Oi and YH at 9:30am to participate in Irene Fong & Winston's wedding, followed by some luxury time @ Cova with the same party. I took the chance to drop by SSP (expected, isn't it? where else could I have gone to on a dayoff?!) before going home for dinner.

Today I picked up a replacement battery kit for my old 1st Gen iPod (aka the scrollwheel iPod) at New Golden on 元州街, one of my favourite shopping centres full of interesting electronic junkies. Indeed, I wasn't expected to find this set without having to order it online. How many Hong Konger would stick to a 5GB firewire-only iPod without video and comes in the thickness of a hamberger?

Anyway, let's cut the bullshit and go back to business, here are my sharings:



My 1st Gen iPod alongside the $139 kit.



Pry open the iPod with the bundled rubber tool, I needed help from a 1.4mm screwdriver though.



It's the 2200mAh replacement battery on the left (with sticker), and the 1230mAh original Sony FukuShima battery on the right, both Lithium Polymer batteries (newer iPods use Lithium Ion). The new battery should last a bit longer than the old one, perfect upgrade before the rumoured iPhone comes out!

Instead of streaming home-brew flash videos on my blog, I have taken the easy route to embed videos from YouTube. Quality is better than self-conversions and this off-load the streaming stress from my server.

Some might wonder how did I resize and autostart the video stream; resize is a piece of cake, all you need to do is copy the embed link from YouTube and alter either width or height and delete the other one, the video would be resized proportionally. For autostarting, first look at your embed code copied from YouTube, it should look similar to the one below:





what you do is to delete everything BUT the part highlighted (keep the highlighted part), and then add an extra parameter to the streaming code, shown below. The code I used, for example, looked like this:



You will notice that I have resized the video by its width and I simply delted the height specified. Easy, isn't it?

EIZO 宣佈推出 FlexScan L797-U，率先提供色弱效果預覽功能，模擬色弱人士的視覺，確保平面及動態設計效果更全面。未考慮購買 L797-U 的業餘設計師可考慮使用 Vischeck 這個 Photoshop plug-in 於普通 LCD display 預覽平面設計，此 Photoshop 專用插件明顯並不支援動態顯示。

一個多少帶點皮氣的手抽袋是今個秋冬 (其實早兩季已經開始...) 的男裝 Must-have item 之一，上圖為 Bottega Veneta 06/07 秋冬 collection。不過趕時髦不一定需要進貢愈半份糧給這些名牌子; 於是，在髮型師 Vince 的推介之下，小弟在尖沙嘴利時商場找到了這個洗水羊皮手抽袋，盛惠 $5xx，一樣咁開心!

在早前的一篇文章裡小弟引用網上資料提到 Sony PlayStation 3 的 Cell 處理器擁有強勁的科學運算能力，最近 Sony 宣佈為此即將推出之家用遊戲機開發代號為 Cure@PS3 的 Folding@Home 叢集運算套件，讓一眾機迷在打機之餘亦可以為醫學研究出一分力。



Folding@Home 計劃由史丹福大學 (Stanford University) 於 2000 年提出並開發至今，集合大量連線到互聯網的志願電腦的分散式運算計劃，用作了解蛋白質摺疊 (protein folding) 、錯誤摺疊 (misfolding) 、聚集及相關疾病包括老人癡呆 (Alzheimer's)，瘋牛症 (Mad Cow, BSE)，可傳播性海綿狀腦病 (CJD)，肌萎縮性脊髓側索硬化症 (ALS)，各種癌症及帕金遜病 (Parkinson's) 等等。

Folding@Home 計劃得到下列電腦軟硬件及開發商大力支持，讓幾乎任何一種電腦的用戶皆可參與此計劃。即將推出的 ATI GPU 套件會是繼 PS3 之後另一個特別優化某種硬件的計劃，叫一眾 powerusers 更能夠善用手上的 Radeon X1K 系列 GPU。
