It sounds like the right time to dig out their greatest hits album again, after these kittens parted in 2004, so yes, the Atomic Kitten is coming back, at least to my iPod & my car stereo. Atomic Kitten was perhaps one of the greatest girls group in UK pop history, I highly recommend this CD for all of you's easy listening.

The 3 girls reunited on Valentine's Day 2005 to release the charity single "Cradle 2005", the proceeds of the single went to World Vision (世界宣明會).

They also performed the following chart-topping Kitten hits as a group in Hong Kong for Nokia's New Year's Eve party at the Harbour City, on Dec 31, 2006. The Kittens were hot as ever, you don't wanna miss the videos below!

Volkswagen Taking Majority Stake in Proton — and Lotus 一月 31. 2007

China-based news agency XFN Asia is reporting that Volkswagen has agreed to purchase a majority 51 percent stake in ailing Malaysian carmaker Proton. The as-yet-unconfirmed deal would provide Volkswagen with control of British-based sports-car maker Lotus, a Proton property.



Picture above shows a Lotus Exige 265E concept. 265 indicates the approximate horsepower; the E refers to the environmentally-friendly bio-ethanol E85 fuel (85 percent ethanol alcohol and 15 percent gasoline) that powers this high performance sports car.

Can we later expect to see a 1.4 twin-charger Elise? Or the other way around, a super light weight Golf GTI?

身在 Toronto 的弟弟興高采烈地的來電告知我一個好消息，就是他給自己買下了婚前 (或婚後?) 的最後一件玩具，一輛 Volkswagen Jetta GLI。Jetta GLI 除了多出了一個尾箱外，從那 signature 紅邊鬼面罩、18 寸 GTI 5 幅輪圈、跑車呔環以至桶椅，根本就是徹頭徹尾的一輛 Golf GTI。香港的代理並沒有引進這個型號，最近似的型號為 Jetta Sport，它們都配備同一副兩公升 FSI Turbo 引擎，主要分別在於 Jetta Sport 沒 GLI 那麼惡形惡相，鬼面罩是跟 Golf R32 相似的鍍鉻款式，但隨車附送一套德國 ABT 包圍。

我這弟弟是個典型的廿四孝未婚夫，為了遷就不懂手波的未來妻子，他甘願購入換檔比手波更快的 DSG 半自動波型號.... 哈哈哈哈!

小弟近期在認真考慮我的工作前景，我喜歡我的工作，也為週圍沒多少辦工室政治而感到高興，只是覺得長遠 career path 沒獲得什麼保證，和部門主管傾談過也未有正面的答案。於旁觀者看來，作為為全球第三大、亞洲第一大高科技通路商，敝公司的前境其實不錯，步入 2007 年更因為中國業務發展理想而被台灣股民一致看好。

也希望上級明白，如果我選擇留下，是希望在喜歡的工作中找到自己長遠的 career，但這並不代表我沒 bargaining power。作為是市場部的一員，和對工作中接觸到的每一件產品一樣，我對自己的市場定位和價值，其實心裡有數。我們為公司拼了這 47% 回來，也希望公司能讓我們看到和努力成正比的誠意。無論是晉升機會或是薪酬調整，就當是在這熾熱的就業市場中留住盡責的員工也不為過吧?

Prada teams up with LG to release mobile phone 一月 25. 2007


This is the first ever proper-looking mobile phone released under any designer label, the D&G / Motorola was simply a joke, it is ugly, non D&G-ish, and has nothing more than the logo to justify its price, and its Gold colour gets along better with Versace outfits! The LG/Prada collaboration is another story, the KE850 is beautiful, it's use of colour and simplistic design cues make the Prada logo looks just right in place.

The KE850's UI is Macromedia Flash-based and opts for a minimalist, white-on-black display, this phone will hit select mobile shops and PRADA stores in the UK, France, Germany and Italy at the end of February. According to the official press release, it is scheduled to make its Hong Kong debut in March 2007.

How much? Edgadget says ��600, around HK$6,060.

This new version now supports drag & drop file transfer from OS X to Windows, a very convenient feature. And guess what, I have a 8.32GHz Core2Duo Windows machine!! Gosh... it must be blazing fast.

This unharmful bug doesn't hurt a pleasant Windows experience on the Mac.

近日以 MSN 和身在美國的一位老朋友談了幾句關於她那位外籍心上人的事，她訴說那傢伙近來對她的態度突變，由原來的熱烈追求忽然變得冷淡非常，令她非常傷心。

我這位朋友非常孝順，因為知道自己放心不下香港的雙親，所以不敢貿貿然於工幹期間在異地談戀愛，跟那外籍人士一直都止乎普通社交約會。我和她說了幾句我的看法，與其說是給她意見，不如說是小弟的心底話...

我跟她說，無論那男孩有多喜歡你，他也不可能無止境的等。如果你把他看成一個 option，萬事俱備只欠你首肯的話，恐怕你便大錯特錯了。你要人家等你考慮其實沒關係，但最少要讓他感受到你的誠意和對他的重視。如果你只顧先解決自己的問題，把人家放到你的秤上看看足不足磅，附不附合你的要求的話，那麼別人轉身便走不過是早晚的事。

我其實非常欣賞她的謹慎，但假若她早點懂得顧及對方的感受，並給予肯定一點的反應，事情的發展可能不至變得那麼糟。

Some personal updates 一月 18. 2007

I have always been willing to write something up here to update my readers about what's going on with me, but in most instances it's a whole lot easier for me come up with something about Volkswagens, computers and/or fashion than about my daily life.

Got a bday and new yr greeting thru Friendster a week ago from an old friend whom I have known for 12yrs, and I didn't get the chance to sit down and write her a decent reply until tonight, guess she also wouldn't mind me to share my reply to her with you guys here! It's not any secret anyway.

".... sorry for this 10-days late reply.. been sick and busy since the start of 2007.

Life is just as usual on my side, no surprises, no news, nothing. Job is okay, I like the job but not the pay, my dept head didn't keep her promise to promote me and I was asked to wait for another 1/2 yr.. I almost wanted to leave right away, I knew I could find a job with higher pay with relative ease. But... for the sake of my career, the look of my CV/resume, what the heck, I'll bite the bullet and see what happens in July.

Have had some dates but they remained dates, nothing's happening over here, but I guess I am used to it now.

There are some interesting bits going on though, I am going for another 25km hike in Feb with 3 other guys in my company, I have some pretty good friends at work, guys and gals, guess that's the best part of my job, and help me put my crappy pay and non-promising future aside at times.

話咁快，又同廢呔之王講 bye bye (UPDATE 2) 一月 15. 2007



早兩天在吐露港公路高速「硬食」 輾過一塊石頭，檢查後發覺右前輪的一條 Goodyear LS2000 有了胎泡 (俗稱「生仔」 )，返魂乏術。今次雖然 cheap 精本色依舊，但起碼抽空在網上查看過 review，訂購了一對獲得不少好評的韓國 Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 高性能輪胎。論性能它當然不及 P-Zero、AD07 等著名跑胎 (話說回來買這些裝在 Polo 上的準是個白痴，根本是 overkill !!)，但也有用家把它和 Continental ContiSportContact II 相提並論，相信必定比廢呔之王好得多，這個選擇應該錯不了。

205/40/17 ZR-rated，HK$630 一條，價錢合理。

我原來也考慮過 Hankook Ventus Sport K104/K107，不過店家說代理沒入口 205/40/17 這尺寸。其他選擇為 Toyo T1-R 及 Dunlop DZ101，兩者的價錢都比 Kumho 貴多了，讓我根本不用多想。

UPDATE: 裝上後不過走了約 100km，表現和 LS2000 已經是差天共地! 還沒換上 KU31 時，車頭的兩條 KW V2 好像被廢了武功般，過彎時感覺像避震機打柴，只靠彈弓來勉強支撐著; 把廢呔之王換掉之後，我的一對 coilover 回來了! 唯一美中不足的是，KU31 路噪很小，呔感也很輕，感覺和小弟很久以前用過並滿意非常的 Yokohama Advan A520 或 Dunlop Formula FM901 都很不一樣。

UPDATE 2: 上個週末和同事們到西貢區遠足，算是為2月3日的環島行作點準備。大夥兒相約在西貢集合，已經開封跑了約 1,000km 的一對 KU31，這天簡直讓我樂透了。我駕車的速度向來不算快，但這天由西沙茶座至西貢墟的路段，我全程幾乎只需拖波收油，便能夠於彎路中自在遊走，足夠讓我爽上了半天!!

The new J-10 is a Joint Chinese-Israel operation.

The Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) and the 611 institute began development of the J-10 during the 1980s, as part of an effort to produce a single-engined, single-seat multi-role, fighter to replace the obsolete J-7 fighter and the Q-5 attack aircraft.

With a reported take off weight of 42,00lb, the J-10 is about 1/3 lighter than the Su-27K deployed aboard Russia's Admiral Kuznetsov, allowing it to operate more easily from a smaller deck, and take off with full load from a Russian-style ski-jump.

殲-10是一種單發單垂尾10噸級輕型空中優勢多用途戰機，採用新一代戰機流行的機腹進氣、雙三角中單翼加三角前翼的近耦合鴨式氣動佈局。殲-10極有可能同其他第四代戰機一樣，採用四重數位化線傳飛控系統。雷達方面，預計將採用國產脈衝多普勒JL-10雷達，搜索距離100千米∼130千米，攻擊距離80千米∼90千米，可同時跟蹤6個目標，並選定4個加以鎖定摧毀。採用俄制 AL-31F 渦扇噴氣發動機，最大加力推力為12260千牛，自身推重比在8左右。
