You see how much of a craze this phone has been creating.

對於小弟來說，搖滾音樂是發洩不快的一個很好的途徑。無論我灰心失意、遭遇錯折失敗或是憤怒到火都黎埋，除了祈禱，就是 rock music。(遇著雞毛蒜皮的不快瑣事，更可能懶得祈禱，聽一遍吵耳的音樂發洩過便算...)

這兩天工作上遇到不如意事，也因為自己不屑迎合主管、不夠圓滑而把事情弄得更糟。心裡面其實明白肥太、阿強、cowboy 他們所說「上班受氣早已包括在薪金裡」這一套，奈何自己就是沉不住氣，遇到不公平對待便自以為是的據理力爭。結果... 當然是碰釘至頭崩額裂!

幸運地，剛從美國回來臥病在床的祖母，就像天使一般讓我片刻忘卻不快。每天看著她努力地和不同的病魔搏鬥 (今天又是肺炎)，我那些意氣之爭算得什麼?

今天伴著我的，是 Beyond 再見理想。

Thanks to your prayers, grandma now has reactions, not simply reflections like before.

She arrived in Hong Kong last night and was sent directly to hospital from the airport, she was so tired last night that she didn't move a bit. Tonight I went to see her after dinner, she briefly opened up her eyes and nodded to people talking to her.

"Grandma, I am here ar..." She nodded.
"Are you tired?" She shook her head.

Altho she went back to sleep right away, now we know she's just extremely tired, and out of her coma state! So, we sang this to her.

The former chart-topping UK female group has just announced in late June its reunion, by releasing a Greatest Hits album in November 2007 as a start, followed by a world tour The Return of the Spice Girls in December, which includes a Hong Kong stop on January 12, 2008.

iPhone 推出不久，熱潮已經席捲全球，雖然 Apple 還沒有釋出官方軟件開發套件 (SDK)， 但推出至今只數週，網上已經流傳不少供 iPhone 使用的 webapp，其中包括這個 The iPhone Bible webapp。

所謂 webapp，是指一些頁面解像度剛好和 iPhone 畫面一樣的網頁，用戶登入該 URL 後看到的就如軟件介面，它們其實並非真正的 application，並不能/不用安裝到 iPhone 裡使用，沒有網絡當然也不能使用。

iPhone Bible webapp 包括聖經、每日靈修、每日金句、福音 podcast 等功能.. 只可惜還沒有中文版。

自從在美國敗了 iPhone 這漂亮的玩意兒回來以後，The iPhone Dev Wiki 就成了我每日必到的網站之一，核客們已先後成功破解 Phone Activation、iPhone file system 及自訂鈴聲，但這些都並非大家最關心的，破解 AT&T 的 SIM LOCK 才是真正的焦點。

根據 Dev Wiki 上發佈的進度，核客們距離 iPhone (firmware 1.0) 全面 unlock 其實不遠。現在主要的障礙是 iPhone 裡使用的 Infineon PMB8876 S-Gold2 baseband processor (基頻處理器) 設有一個 network personalization lock，會自動檢查 SIM 卡上的 IMSI。核客們指出這顆 S-Gold2 晶片 bootloader 會檢查 firmware 內的加密認証，如有錯誤根本不能開機，所以修改 firmware 這方法暫時行不通。他們甚至已經找出解鎖的 AT MODEM 指令，問題在於這指令需配合每部 iPhone 也不相同的 NCK (Network Control Key) ，而 iPhone 本身亦內置解鎖保護，幾次輸入錯誤的指令便會自動鎖上硬件只能於 AT&T 網絡上使用。現在只等核客們找出 NCK 的算法 (algorithm)，解放 iPhone 便指日可待!

大家也別浪費時間到先達去問了，iPhone 使用如假包換的 OS X 操作系統，與一般手機有著天淵之別，破解 iPhone 實不在本地手機師傅的能力範圍以內。

我將於 11 號離開 Seattle，根據嬤嬤近日的病情發展，明天晚上有機會是我最後一次和她一起。我的腦袋現在完全一片空白，究竟我該傷心、不捨，還是感恩? 我不走不行，但這句「再見」怎說得出口? 有人能告訴我該怎去面對嗎?

A little update on the new Apple wonder, hacker Jon Lech Johansen (aka DVD Jon) who cracked the CSS content protection on DVDs back in 1999, found a way to activate an iPhone without submitting any personal information to AT&T, good news for those who don't live in the USA and do not mind to pay $499/$599 for a WiFi enabled iPod.

Johansen worked around to fake Apple's activation server, by following his instruction and downloading his software package, one should be able to reroute the remote activation process to the local machine and activates the iphone without involving AT&T. Before the release of DVD Jon's method, any purchased iPhone will not function without signing up with AT&T, not even iPod & WiFi, which makes it nothing more than a good-looking brick.

I brought my notebook with me partly to check company emails, but it turns out ruining my mood (which obviously wasn't at its best anyway) last night.

Efficiency doesn't come without discipline, you can't handle the discipline of your subordinates, and you end up blaming those who work with them? Come on, that's the worst joke of all times, that just doesn't make any sense to me. If you can't handle this, give way to someone else who can!

Be responsible! Shit this is making me real sick.

這一刻我身在 Seattle 的醫院裡，嬤嬤還在深切治療部勇敢地和併發症搏鬥中。在病房外爺爺跟我說: 「你知道嘛? 太突然了，這一切發生得太突然了。如果換著躺在病床上的是我，我會欣然接受。但這一次對嬤嬤來說，是太沉重的負擔了，這不應該是她承受的。」

這就是愛，捨己的愛。
