There are times that men need emotional escapes, to me they usually come in the form of rock music. There is this one guy I wanna call him every name I could think of, but I will not, instead I'll ask him to "get a life and get out of my way", asshole.

給身邊人 六月 19. 2008

這陣子身邊人被許多煩惱事纏繞著，想要給她一點安慰和鼓勵，奈何小弟不擅言詞，說話往往到了脣邊就出不了來。我想安慰普通朋友倒還容易一點，跟朋友能一起分憂就已經很足夠，對身邊人則少不免會想得週到一點，想多了、說多了卻又可能惹彼此的氣。說話我不懂也不會在這裡多說，我們作為基督徒，比別人應當是多了一點盼望。神從來沒有應許跟從祂便會一帆風順，但因著祂的保守，在危難中我們有平安。

以下幾句歌詞, 盼望她有機會看到能思想一下:

北京之行 - 中關村 六月 14. 2008

早陣子因工事到北京待了幾天，平常我出差基本上是沒有什麼私人時間的，這一趟還好，剛到的一天完成工作後趁其他同事還沒有到便逕自到中關村走了一趟。

中關村是電腦商場的集中地，海龍、鼎好、太平洋、e世界等幾大腦場共有幾個高登、黃金般大。(都是那一句，當你逛遍上海、深圳、廣州、成都、台灣、新加坡、曼谷等地的腦場，你就知道還是黃金好) 小弟上一次到中關村是去年春節的事，一年後舊地重遊驚喜欠奉，倒是親眼見証了北京(或許也是中國整體)的過發展。近年無論腦場高檔消費品還是其他商場都不約而同地開完一家又一家，老實說，京城人口雖多，但哪能一下子養活這麼多高檔商舖? 相隔不過一年，有關燈的，有降格的，也有的捱不下去被逼關門。

去年小弟到中關村去的時候看到了一座興建中的漂亮教堂並拍下照片，一年後特地再去看看，回來比對一下，發現這教堂一年內的變化也蠻有趣。這教堂名為北京市基督教海淀堂，位於海淀區海淀西大街，中關村彩和坊9號。



海淀堂的設計師為 Meinhard von Gerkan，網站 http://www.gmp-architekten.de.

I miss the UofT libraries 四月 14. 2008



Tonight, in the course of researching for my term paper, I told my girlfriend that I miss the UofT libraries; in response she asked, "is the CityU library really that bad?". Well... I was spoiled by the largest collection of academic literature in Canada, you can't compare when it comes to researching, I told her.

A quick search on wikipedia reveals that "The University of Toronto library system is Canada's largest academic library and is the third-largest in North America, after Harvard, and Yale. As of April, 2006, it held 10.5 million bookform items, 5.4 million microform items, and 1.9 million other items in its collections. The fourteen-storey Robarts Library is the main humanities and social sciences library, and the largest book repository in Canada. "

I could still remember the long nights spent behind piles of books at Robarts for those POL papers. But for one obvious reason, I love CityU just as much, I added. ;-)

在受苦節的零晨感謝神 三月 21. 2008



在很短時間內看了兩次福音電影 "真的戀愛了?"，一次是以帥哥高皓正作餌軟硬兼施的抓了兩位女同事同往，另一次和誰看不用說了吧。這套電影並不拍得十分感人，但讓我學會了一點功課：

- 雖然我那兩位女同事最後並沒有因為高皓正的俊瞼而立刻對信仰產生興趣，但我深信神自有祂的時間表，這齣電影和它所傳遞的福音信息都必已悄悄地在兩位女孩心中播了種... 我剩下來可以做的，就是為她們禱告。

- 至於小弟的另一半，我其實從來也不認為憑己之力可以把她從新帶返教會，我憑咩? 我為這事禱告，然後... 神不但在週日崇拜差傳年會中帶來了風趣無悶場的羅祖澄牧師，也帶來了他的印尼宣教 powerpoint (女友的父毋是印尼華僑），至少我知道她很用心去聆聽。同一天下午，神也準備了這套電影，我不知道她看過後有何感受，但最少我自己從黃智賢的見證得到點啟發，更明顯地對這段關係多了安全感!

在 08 年受苦節的零晨，我為這一切感謝神。

An Easter reminder 二月 23. 2008

From chocolate boxsets to Easter bunnies to public holidays, we could all tell Easter is just around the corner. This afternoon I noticed that one of the Google searches that has led someone to my blog involved the keyword "via Dolorosa", so I took the chance to watch the Via Dolorosa clip on YouTube again, to remind myself and hopefully some other visitors, that Jesus Christ had died for us and resurrected.

是時候數算主恩 十二月 14. 2007

年關將至，是時候數算主恩。對小弟來說，2007 絕對是滿有恩典的一年，不如意事當然有，但值得感恩的事情卻更是多著。

- 熟悉小弟一家的都會知道神在祖母身上的作為絕對是今年的頭號感恩重點。從中風、醫生宣佈她腦死亡、滯留西雅圖至回港就醫並逐漸康復，這一切都讓我們看到神賜下遠多於我們所求的恩典。我還清楚記得我獨自在家中又哭又鬧又禱告的那幾天，感謝神!

- 弟弟結婚了! 除了感謝神為他預備了一位好太太，讓祖父母一償心願外，也成了難得一家團聚的機會。

- 月前發生交通意外大難不死，車子更不用報銷!

- 給我有重拾書包的機會，在工作崗位感到意興闌珊，繼續讀書總算讓我有個奮鬥的目標。

- 至於其他，我深信神早有預備。

After a week of exciting progress, grandma is back into coma state these two days because of Staphylococcus aurcus (金黃葡萄球菌) infection. She is now isolated and visiting time is limited to some particular few hours a day, I can only see her an hour at most after work.

God please lead on.

不吐不快 七月 27. 2007

對於小弟來說，搖滾音樂是發洩不快的一個很好的途徑。無論我灰心失意、遭遇錯折失敗或是憤怒到火都黎埋，除了祈禱，就是 rock music。(遇著雞毛蒜皮的不快瑣事，更可能懶得祈禱，聽一遍吵耳的音樂發洩過便算...)

這兩天工作上遇到不如意事，也因為自己不屑迎合主管、不夠圓滑而把事情弄得更糟。心裡面其實明白肥太、阿強、cowboy 他們所說「上班受氣早已包括在薪金裡」這一套，奈何自己就是沉不住氣，遇到不公平對待便自以為是的據理力爭。結果... 當然是碰釘至頭崩額裂!

幸運地，剛從美國回來臥病在床的祖母，就像天使一般讓我片刻忘卻不快。每天看著她努力地和不同的病魔搏鬥 (今天又是肺炎)，我那些意氣之爭算得什麼?

今天伴著我的，是 Beyond 再見理想。

心中一股衝勁勇闖 拋開那現實沒有顧慮
彷彿身邊擁有一切,看似與別人築起隔膜

Good news to share with you all 七月 26. 2007

Thanks to your prayers, grandma now has reactions, not simply reflections like before.

She arrived in Hong Kong last night and was sent directly to hospital from the airport, she was so tired last night that she didn't move a bit. Tonight I went to see her after dinner, she briefly opened up her eyes and nodded to people talking to her.

"Grandma, I am here ar..." She nodded.
"Are you tired?" She shook her head.

Altho she went back to sleep right away, now we know she's just extremely tired, and out of her coma state! So, we sang this to her.

感謝神，禱告蒙應允，感謝神，未蒙垂聽，
感謝神，渡過了風暴，感謝神，豐富供應，
感謝神，賜我苦與樂，感謝神，絕望得慰，
感謝神，無比的慈愛，感謝神，無限恩惠。

Praise to the lord! HE does miracles.

說不出口 七月 10. 2007

我將於 11 號離開 Seattle，根據嬤嬤近日的病情發展，明天晚上有機會是我最後一次和她一起。我的腦袋現在完全一片空白，究竟我該傷心、不捨，還是感恩? 我不走不行，但這句「再見」怎說得出口? 有人能告訴我該怎去面對嗎?

Breath rate around 20/min, pulse ~100, blood pressure 130~140, body temperature 37'c, plus or minus.... still no sign of waking up.

I pray for the continuous faith, and of course, the healing.
