Guns N' Roses - 久遺了的 80 年代搖滾班霸

聖誕向來是歌手樂隊爭相推出新唱片的熱門檔期，而今年 Oasis、Nickelback 和 Guns N' Roses 都相繼推出新唱片，更教小弟樂不可支! Guns N' Roses 上一次推出大碟 "The Spaghetti Incident?" 是 1994 年的事，還記得當年小弟是拿著 discman 在就讀 high school Newtonbrook 的 cafeteria 裡聽這張唱片。14 年後，"Chinese Democracy" 這張 Axl Rose 嘔心嚦血之作終鐵定於 11 月 23 日推出，由於上一張大碟 "The Spaghetti Incident?" 只為一張雞尾唱片，故 Chinese Democracy 更是自 1991 年的 Use Your Illution I & II 以後這隊 80 年代搖滾班霸首張推出的原創大碟!

根據11月21日星島日報報導: Guns N' Roses 新碟的原裝美國電視廣告內多次出現毛澤東圖像及中國五星國旗，牴觸香港法律被禁播，所以於明珠台播放的廣告，也要經刪剪部分敏感鏡頭才可順利播出。

"I'm Outta Time" - a tribute to John Lennon that has taken the Oasis frontman 9 years to write, has earned Liam Gallager nothing but praises since it was released in their new album "Dig Out Your Soul".

早兩年已經想去看，這次終於給我成功買了票!
有朋友曰: 「哈!真係唔知你連女仔戲都殺喎」我想... 三十這一關對男性和女性所起的衝擊雖然不盡相同，但共鳴總是有的。

高皓正 - 真心唱歌

下班後到 HMV 買了高皓正的 CD 『真心唱歌』，老實說我並不認為他的歌喉特別好，但我是由衷的欣賞和佩服他的勇氣。像他這樣的帥哥, 出唱片大可以選男朋友、女朋友、明戀、暗戀等一大堆大路情歌題材，反應就算不好也最少比唱基督教歌曲保險一點。他也大可以一開始把自己標誌為福音歌手，CD 放在書室賣，海報寄到全香港教會張貼; 若從銷量去想，這也不失為一保障。但高皓正選擇了一條肯定難行的路，他將自己定位為一位信耶穌的流行歌手，在大碟中談信仰不單對銷量沒甚好處，更局限了自己的『粉絲』群!

留意高皓正是由『不要驚動愛情』開始，歌詞對正在醞釀戀愛中的基督徒有很切身的描述，也是很大的提醒。在這張 CD 內共有 4 首擺明車馬談信仰的歌曲，『愛妳也愛祂』講述跟未信的人談戀愛的痛苦，『忘記背後』(基督教互愛團契浪茄訓練中心主題曲)是首勵志歌曲，『點起愛的火』(普世基督徒關懷差會主題曲)則主要是歌頌和讚美上帝。

我不會把他的歌稱為詩歌，他的歌詞中有部份的目的並非是要讚美或歌頌上帝，我想該也沒有人會在崇拜或團契當中選唱『不要驚動愛情』和『愛妳也愛祂』吧? 不過高皓正的歌詞正正就是年輕基督徒生活中的一部份，平常在書室找到的就是缺少這一種把信仰生活化的歌曲。

"Dig Out Your Soul", a new studio album by the British rock band, will be released on Oct 6th, 2008, three years after their last album "Don't Believe the Truth".

While impatiently waiting for it to arrive at local record stores, taking a sneak peek at their new single "The Shock of the Lightning" would be a very good idea!

"The Shock of the Lightning" is the fourth track from the album "Dig Out Your Soul". The song will also be released as the first single from the album on 29 September 2008.

上月和女友去看了幾乎讓全城女子都趨之若騖的一齣戲 - Sex & The City。聽說有很多女孩都抱怨另一半對這齣瘋靡全球女子的 blockbuster 不感興趣，我不是要為男人平反，但其實這怪不得他們，Sex & The City 這齣戲本身便限制了它的觀眾群。

首先別要說男人，這齣戲其實並不是每個女人都會愛看。位於 New York City 的故事背景，幾位女主角的工作和日常生活模式，都令真正喜愛這齣戲並對角色產生共鳴的女子限於生活在國際大都會、受過相當教育、從事某幾類文職工作、對時裝瞭如指掌、年紀約 25-45 歲的女子。其他告訴你她愛看 Sex & The City 的，極有可能只是憧憬像 Carrie Bradshaw 般有個富有而且愛她的 Mr. Big，或是像 Louise 般有個會給她買 LV 的老闆。

這齣戲也讓許多女孩沉醉在不切實際的夢想之中，曾經有一至兩個星期，我的 MSN contact list 上總有幾個人的 signature 在告訴全世界她們要尋找 Mr. Big。對我們男人來說，當每個女孩都把自己代入了戲中角色內渴望找個金龜婿，甚至要求自己身邊那個變成 Mr. Big，問題就來了。要知道並不是每一個男人都能夠或適合成為華爾街鉅子或是大商家，但平日言談間發現現今很多女孩的擇偶條件都離不開那幾樣 - 從事金融業的，最好是那幾大 ibank，否則攀車邊和金融有關的，管它是經紀、交易員諸如此類也行。這種價值觀失衡讓本來很簡單、純潔的男女關係滲了很多雜質。

不瞞大家，我其實覺得 Sex & The City 這電影蠻好看，裡面 portrait 的也不是一面倒的拜金。上面幾段嘮騷不過是眼見現今很多女孩看完這齣戲只知道 Mr. Big 有感而發。

Came across this poster AD for the new Ford Mondeo on my way to work, first thing that popped up in my mind was “hey ... this is the classic example of a BAD slogan”. Can someone please educate me what the hell do they mean by “Moving up in the world”??? What kind of English is this? Or is it in fact some other language that looks like English?

Ford makes nice cars, but their cars don’t sell (At least in Hong Kong they don’t); now they also have bad slogans coming from a bad agency, all these will only lead to one ending - Ford is dead meat.

Nickelback's Rockstar - pretty good lyrics IMO
